Something that impresses me about this comic is how… alien everything looks. Most fantasy settings have pretty much the same flora and fauna as Earth on top of all of the weird and supernatural monsters, but apart from the humans this looks like a completely different planet altogether.
This is super early on into the comic’s life. They had a decade’s less experience with art as compared to the writing of this comment and not everything was necessarily perfectly nailed down yet. Plus, the scale of the world as drawn in this particular page was likely embellished to emphasize Kassen’s new, smaller perspective.
OOPs now has a Russian translation which updates shortly after the English pages are posted!

Now also in French:
And Ukranian:
The large saurian-looking creature in the first panel looks very cool. Can I have one? Pretty please?
I want one too
Flying squirrel lizard in panel two is cool

This does not line up with the size of the teeth (relative to buildings) in the introduction splash panel of Val Salia.
I think I’m going to assume that was a perspective issue and the city is in fact meant to be big.
