That said, waiting around for that to happen hasn’t ever been a winning move – but the ~$120k of debt which had to be paid off suggests FA may run at a significant deficit; at some point it might not get bailed out.

Save zhat until Kass gets zheir reunion wizh de surgeon. De only guy who’s got a real reason to dislike Kass, and yet Kass keeps giving him work to do like de guy didn’t dislike Kass after getting corrosive Yinglet snot zhrown in zheir face by Kass before.
But I zhink rock bottom will hit when de only person Kass has to call upon is Lopin, seeing everyone else is laid up zhanks to Yannit’s panic attack.

Kind of waiting for Kass to go out and look for her. Like, this feels like a good moment for us all to remember why Kass is in the position she’s in…
Let’s see. Kass has to visit the enclave in “a day or two” (oops 295). Meanwhile, Elim is bedridden, Yannit has a broken leg at best, Isher has a grizzly arm injury, and Kalgkur had part of his face broken off. Who will protect Kass from the patriarchs’ romantic advances, or from the ladies’ girl-talk, or from the nursery’s chaos, or from … man, Kass is in it deep, eh?
After being indirectly referred to this by a friend and checking the prologue out out of morbid curiosity… only to binge the entire series twice over the last couple days. You might say I’m both hooked and impressed. Big fan of spec evo stuff, and really liking the worldbuilding and character work you’ve got going on. What a time to catch up, too. I can only imagine how much I’d be champing at the bit had I found this a month or so ago.
