In the last two panels it goes from her being scared to being just tired of them and a little weirded out, going by expressions. I imagine these guys aren’t really that much of a threat…considering I bet they don’t even know what to do with a girl.
That punch she learned from him would come in really handy.
Well, this has gotten rather horrible. Poor Kass! Hopefully rescue will come before they figure out how to do anything really awful.
Hopefully he can fight long enough to garner attention of the guard, while holding ground.
That is the stance he took, erm, /after/ he slapped Vizlet, and was readying for her response. A more peturbed expression means the response would be fight, and not a petty one either. He is more alert, slept better, fed better, and he’s had enough about now. HE is ready to dispense orders for their heads, if Yannit had been there so help them it would have been a red day.
As is he’s already gone for the eye once today?

The longer I read this section of the story, with all the kidnapping tension, I keep thinking, “From now on Kass, carry a fucking KNIFE!!” I mean, Elim is awesome but carry a knife, man!

They probably have a tooth; it’s just either hidden by the angle of the snout, or the creator just forgot to add it on.

I mean… Yinglet males already kinda have the equipment that most people think of when they think of … ‘that’…
So they’re going after the secondary and tertiary characteristics as the objects of their lust- the fluffier tail, somewhat softer chest-meats, etc.
It’s less that Kass ‘isn’t being violated’ and more that Kass isn’t being violated in a manner that his human and male instincts recognize as violation, thus allowing him less panic and more rage/confusion.
At this point, I seriously ship Kass and Brakka. Just saying.

WAIT. NARKLET? THE PLOT THICKENS YET AGAIN!
My guess is Narklet offered Brakka a deal: “Retrieve Zhat Zhing and you can get accepted back into an enclave”.
It’s still unclear how Zhat Zhing entered the plot here, but presumably both Vizlet and Narklet realized it was around at roughly the same time. Viz sent Beizel and his decidedly-more-competent-than-the-average-yinglet scouts, Narklet had to rely on a completely deniable asset that wouldn’t get traced back to him even if caught (because the very thought of country traditionalist Narklet working with a city-dwelling exile bandit/mercenary is of course utterly laughable). Probably through sheer dumb luck Brakka got there first, but only barely, and that’s how the story got started.
Interestingly enough, Narklet knew Lopin was involved with Zhat Zhing before Brakka knew who Lopin was. So Narklet must have got that bit of information through another source…
I figure that Kass told Viracroix and Vizlet in his offscreen exposition dump at his first meeting with them. Vizlet told Beizel to have his scouts find Lopin. Narklet heard about it too, because most yinglets keep secrets like colanders hold water.

I still remember when Ctrl Alt Del had the [redacted] event happen, and the horrible meme that came out of it. I still can’t look at a four panel comic without wondering “is this loss?”

Am I the only one that feels sorry for Brakka?
I mean he’s done some awful things, clearly, but I really don’t think he’s evil. He seems more broken.
First off, he’s an exile, so most yinglets probably avoid him, short of the… ‘special’ group he has here.
Humans likely treat him as a gross pest or worse.
And he’s going to great lengths to get back into an enclave or group?
He’s probably desperate for some sort of acceptance, without many that would ever give him a chance.
And it seems like someone took advantage of that to get him to follow orders.
Even here, he’s not being malicious, he’s just given up.
He thinks he’s got nothing left to live for, so nothing matters.
The fact he’s waited until now shows he was exercising some level of restraint, even with a captive female.
It kinda seemed like he thought he was saving Kass from Elim too.
He shows classic signs of someone trying to maintain a forced emotional distance, likely due to trauma, and page 90 seems to give a pretty good hint at where all that anger is coming from.
Maybe even why he’s an exile now.
The only ‘friends’ he seems to have now are clearly far below his level of functioning.
I wonder if any of them would actually survive on their own without him.

Knowing Kass, and the compassion he’s shown to all the other misfits in his group, maybe that’s why he’s been holding back.
I could be wrong, he could just be a dumb jerk.
Either way, I really enjoy the depth and thought put into the story and characters here. Kudos Valsalia!
Oh totally agree! He’s turned out to be a really interesting character, and valsalia has introduced him with his actions, rather than his words. Really well done. He’s pretty smart for a yinglet, but impulsive, presumptuous, and some sort of ‘not prideful’. I’ve noticed the only other character with a pink nose like that is vizlet…

But he made some bad choices, and went about things the wrong way.
And now those choices are going to come back and bite him someplace tender.
