Doesn’t Beizel know Cass’ situation?
If so this is likely intentional to see Kass’s reaction: there may be physical responses Kass doesn’t know about, or general reading of body language (like Kass not being upset at being called a lady.)
He implied pretty heavily to Elim that he has figured it out, yes, but I don’t think he overheard Kass confess Brakka’s attempted rape to Vizlet, since he was still in the vents with Yannit at the time. If he had, he might have “read the room” better. Still, I think Vizlet should make him carry half of Deema’s burden of books home, both to ease Deema’s strain and to “ground” him.
Here’s a question: which of the local yinglets do y’all think are literate?
By “local” do you mean just the city or also the enclave? For sure Pekkit, Lippie, Vizlet and maybe Beizel. I’m not sure about Lopin yet but he’d have opportunity now. Vizlet might push for all her (current and potential) patriarchs and the girls at least to be.

Perhaps is a good zhing zhat Beizel gets Kass flustered now. Since he did zhe naughty wizh her fanci boi, she’d certainly notice de scent of it if Kass was zhinking of somezhing else. But by touching her, and leaving his scent on her, Kass would zhink it was her she was smelling, and not de result of fun times.
Would Kass? The report already noted that Kass has no more acute a perception of scent than before the change, with a few exceptions. Though unclear if this is for all Yinglets, or just Kass retaining some biochemical remnants of human. Probably the former. Yinglets have not demonstrated much in the way of scent use yet.
And I’m pretty sure Kass knows, or at least has a strong suspicion.
Would Kass know? We have several artistic instances of what a Yinglet looks like post coitus in OOP, we kind of look like we found a bucket of clams (the feeling is similar) so she would be suspicious, and possibly jealous that said clams were not shared. That would get Kass close enough to notice the scent of clams is missing, and Beizel’s scent is all over fanci boi.
We don’t know if Kass would be jealous, disgusted (Kass really hasn’t been introduced to just how bisexual male yinglets are), or hurt, after Lopin had said he was her Matriarch, and then did de humpin’ wizh Beizel de first time he got de case of blue balls (We do have doze, dey just internal).
Know the fancy boy just got some action? Yes, and trying not to think of it: You saw the look of disgust! But know who with? I think doesn’t know, and doesn’t /want/ to know.

I’m zhinking zhat Kass is very, very glad to be feemale right about now so her anatomy is not physically embarrassing her like a male’s would.
But, I’d zhink dere would be anozher written article about how not all Yinglets repulse Kass. Being military, Kass would get zhe idea of hazing, a bit of teasing/harassment zhat beings someone’s acceptance into a social group. So even if Kass gets all hot under de collar for Beizel, Kass humani side can also recognize de teasing as acceptance by “De cool Yinglet” of de group. And Beizel is very Chad, for a Yinglet.
Kass is not in heat, so “the body” and mind are in sync.
Even if not in heat, the yinglet mind/body may be responding to the flirting while the human mind has to catch up to quash such responses (remember the hysterical responses to a fart and Lopin clinging to Elim).

oh jeez poor kass. I sometimes forget how uh…casual, yinglets are amongst themselves.. so I can’t entirely fault beizel here, but here’s hoping viz has a stern talk with him so um…”this” doesn’t happen again…
I’m sure Beizel knows about Kass’s history (whether he was suppose to or not) so I think he’s messing with him/her for the fun of it. Kass has a female body but the mind of a male, so he has conflicting feelings about it all. Beizel is too smart and calculating to just be in it just to be “bumping uglies”.

Probably doubly so since Beizel is not going be as put off by Kass being “male” as much as Kass will by Beizel being male.
Who knows, though. Maybe it would end up like with the clams? But Kass is never going to find out unless/until (s)he surrenders to being female.
