Wow! Zhretta got it in one guess. Zo, calling de redsmizh lady “His Human” miight be a slight overstep seeing zhat dey had met but once. Guess it shows how obviously Kalgkur had been crushing on her for some time. Now, I guess zhere will be some kind of trial maybe? Just hope zhat Kass isn’t appointed as Kalgkur’s defense. Not zhat I zhink dat Kass wouldn’t try bozh as someone who truly feels injustice, and someone who (of late) has a sense of duty towards ValSalia.
Yinglets just aren’t good liars in general. And zhat would be a bad zhing for a legal beagle.
“That of yours” doesn’t necessarily mean belongs to you, just that it’s something you talk about a lot. Someone might say “those wolves of yours” to a shepherd who constantly worries about wolves attacking his sheep, you could easily refer to Moby Dick as “that whale of yours” to Captain Ahab, etc. It just means Kalgkur talks about the redsmith quite a bit – but we already knew that.
Ya, ya we know zhat Zhretta might even be a bit jealous when zhinking of de redsmith, but if Kalgkur had been talking (do de Baxxid occasionally gag him to shut him up?) about de redsmith, she would know her name (likely sick and tired of it) but she seems to not know it, or has issues telling humani apart possibly (Unlikely seeing Baxxid have very,very good memories. But zhat’s like saying all Yinglets are stupid.) or simply didn’t care (also unlikely, seeing zhat Kalgkur was her friend).
So, perhaps confusion and shock?
Kalgur himself did not know Nell’s name until he spoke to her very recently, so i don’t see how Zhretta could have learned her name from him.
He’d never actually talked to the redsmith and learned her name until this day after all, just watched.
Ah! You have never had a friend desperately in love wizh someone else zhen? Yes? De first instinct is to put on de detective hat and do due diligence, to see who de person zhat is being dragged into one’s social circle is. Zhis is easier if de person is in an enclave, but even Yinglets get moved around in-between enclaves.
What is Zhretta’s relationship with Kalgkur? Are they siblings or friends? They don’t seem to be a couple, but they seem to share a household, and Kalgkur mentioned both Zhretta and Kuldra when he went to visit his progenitor in the “place of peaceful rest.” My guess is that all three of them are siblings, with Kuldra the youngest of the three. But maybe they’re both just friends of Kalgkur?
I’m guessing siblings, as they talk about heterosexual love interests like two people who will never be interested in each other.
I believe Zhretta is his sister – she stated “I miss him too” when talking about Kal’s father. Kuldra, on the other hand, I think is unrelated and is simply a friend/acquaintance of Kal (Zhretta seems to rather dislike her, however).
