What is to come…well at least Kalgkur isn’t on full panic mode anymore. Maybe somezhing de black bannered Baxxid did to him? For a culture of Baxxid who zhinks dat killing is somezhing dey abhor, being called a “blooded” sounds like not a good zhing for Kalgkur.

When Varakses commented on Kalgkur’s soul being “snuffed out,” I thought he was poetically describing an execution. But now that we’ve actually interacted a bit with one of the black-bannered baxxids, the word that comes to mind is “hollow” – it would failure of whatever “test” is coming would result in Kal similarly being hollowed-out and turned into one of the black-bannered. A fate worse than death, it would appear.
While clearly horrific, the snuffing must be less terrible than death, since the black flag Baxxid haven’t killed themselves to escape it.
