I think they did a couple pages ago, though they don’t know WHY she was afraid of him. Either way, figuring out why they become violent whenever they are brought into the city is why Ran and Viracroix are interested in her, so that information was effectively a successful experiment they weren’t trying to run.
Talk of the metal worker aside, it occurs to me that they have access to a similar substance which can be sterilized and worked into the same shape, assuming patching that crack is a good idea…
nnnNo shame in a battle scar, but perhaps reflecting on ssselfconciousness one might consider ivenmoth prosthetic metalworksss,
mmmMaybe from someone you know?
What, he had problems getting into doors wizhout his fin taking chunks out of zhem, and now zhat is less of a problem? Kind of a win for Ivenmozh’s doorways.
Just wait till Kalgkur gets to visit the Yinglet Enclave! It will happen, seeing he is supposed to be Elim, but better being a guard for Kass and all. De funniest zhing about Kal busting doorways was zhat de Baxxid kind of made de interior of de Ivenmozh rooms, so it isn’t zhat de Baxxid’s (like you) have a reason to complain about what your ancestors (you might be an ancient Baxxid, kind of hard to tell) made.
HnnnrWhile it is possible oversight of the older baxxid, steps to make current accomodation for a few generations should be concidered, unless to arouse suspicion of the constructionss..
mmnnNot that anyone should hope to replace Elim.., Khalgur should seek understanding for the greater good for the baxxid.. door obsstructionss and all..
Elim is very cuddle-able, but also apparently stab-able too. Good luck for getting de trademaster to shell out for Baxxid friendly doors for the upper floors, getting Baxxid friendly bazhrooms might be a more urgent sort of zhing. Us Yinglets can use a potty made for a Human just fine, but somehow I don’t see Kalgkur using one.
I’ll agree with the prosthetic, but I’m not so sure about the metalwork… perhaps woodwork instead, tempered with talk of a guardians pride. Let me explain: The advantages of wood over metal would be a cap that can be shaved down as the bone regrows, a more consistent fit. Wood also has more give and would be more comfortable against bare bone. Then, the talk of a guardians pride is not only coming to understand something of a unique culture rare amongst humans in any era, but grants reason to take pride in ones scars when earned in such a manner. Trust me, you wake up in a hospital trying to figure out what day/month it is just to have the nurse bring in a stranger who’s all worked up just to say thankyou to the guy that save her kid? You’ll understand that pride then. You can’t buy the feeling that comes with something like that.
Is so? Prosthetics for OOP so far are zhe legs of zhat Bakers roof guy. What are you going to use to stick somezhing to Kalgkur? And if you use one, it would need to stand up to what a Baxxid is meant to do, which is digging underground. His original spike went right through a Ivenmozh doorway and Kalgkur barely noticed. Having one made, but fall off like a wig would be kind of funny, but not so much for Kalgkur.
I think a combination would work best. Woodwork for a base, but metal-plated outside. You get the comfort of wood inside, but the strength of metal outside.
For materiels, just grab a saw and cut a chunk off of Baxxid Voldemort, zhey seem to have extra to go around. Not zhat non-baxxids get to see old he who shall not be named very often, but it’d be kind of fun to see their response after waking up and finding part of zheir head having been removed (for a good cause).
Wow, that sucks… but come to think of it… if Nell actually DID draw those dicks on the guards, it would’ve been a LOT more severe of a humiliation, since they’ll have to live with those marks for decades.
I just looked back at the scene where Kalgkur first reported for guard duty, and I see on page 243 that Guardmaster Shtivv’kr has a couple of significant scars. Maybe Kalgkur could ask the Guardmaster how to handle it.
OOPs now has a Russian translation which updates shortly after the English pages are posted!

Now also in French:
And Ukranian:
Oof. Welcome to the club, I guess?
I guess they’ll figure out later that the situation happened Because Kalgkur was there.

Well if it’s any consolation, you look cooler now, bro. Fist bum- oh…
Yeah, Kass knows a little bit about that. Still trying to figure out what to do about it, though.
I’m betting the goldsmith lady offers to make him a cap piece to replicate the old shape.
Either zhat, or a wig.
Kintsugi fin would look neat too

HnnnThere seems to be some kind of architectural failure..
.. nnnGiven the stature of more recent residentsss…

That’s a hilariously practical idea! Though I forget if HWKWHD had the same bone color as Kalgur (we’ve seen some Baxxid have darker head-bones.).

Pretty sure zhe Baxxid Elder has lost an eye too.
