Suddenly interested in this new “variety” of Yinglet. Wondering if maybe we’ve seen one of these poison-boys before…
Ah, such yings are to be avoided, yes? But zhey make is so-bad for de humans chaser yings, who want to get de humpins. De “stoner” yings make humans avoid yinglet-kind, so is why de human chasers haven’t been run out of town, as zhey serve as kind of antibodies to keep the stoner yings away from humans.
De ozher zhing one does run into, is de “false stoner” AKA a way to rob humans. One guy pretends to be high as a kite, and two accomplices “saves” de humans for a price. Is a kind of toll sort of zhing for rural Yinglets cast out of enclaves to make a living, but it makes de ozher species dislike us, so zhey are hunted down by Patriarchs eventually and punished.
The fluffgrubs are kinda cute.
That note for the Fluffgrub should be added to plenty of English names of animals. Hyenas that aren’t hyenas, eagles that aren’t eagles, otters that aren’t otters and so on. Some are more obvious than the others, like everyone knows guinea pig is not a pig (or does everyone…?), but you would have a hard time trying to explain to people while axolotl is not a name for the species but the larvae state of some of the species. Or why the sugarglider is not a squirrel. And why bald eagle isn’t even the real eagle. Same for some non-fox “foxes” out there. Gray fox or bat eared fox are not foxes at all. But it’s more than just stubbornly using the name. A lot of people call them that and think it’s correct, not just because they are used to the names. The latter is actually fine, but the former… well…

Ran is clearly peeved about the fluffgrub’s name, but at least he’s not ticked. Who knows what a tick from a field guide entry like this would to to you?
Are there any natural poisons or venoms that yinglets aren’t (virtually) immune to?
Ja, abstinence.
I do wonder if Yinglets are allergic to, or unable to metabolize, theobromine(chocolate), or thiosulfates(onions), or caffeine like other animal species. We humans have a fair few resistances to foods that other species lack.
Zhings from plants are not great zhings to try and eat. Caffeine comes from Cocoa beans, onions are veggies. But is a matter of how much per volume of ozher food, such as barbecue sauce being plant based slathered on de chicken wings being edible for me, but zhings zhat are too sugary are not great eizher, so I can eat more “hot wings” zhan “barbecue wings” slathered in super sweet barbecue sauce.
Chocolate is kind of de same zhing, it’s packed wizh sugar, unless you can find de diabetic stuff, zhat miraculously isn’t loaded wizh Carbs (makes me sick to eat carb rich food). Honestly, just give me clams, and you can eat de candy.
