Sure, but also neither of them wants to hurt anybody. They’re pretty ideal for literally guarding the yinglet body while the surrounding guards *ahem* handle anyone stupid enough to make a move.
I’m surprised that Kalgkur isn’t wearing any red. Like, I expected then to put some sort of marking on hkm before they left, but he’s not even marked with a red cloth like last time. It’s pretty normal for him to just be nude like that, but there’s literally no indication that he’s a bodyguard, or a guard or even house employee of any sort. Not only does that make him less of a deterrent, but it means he isn’t able to clearly identify himself as a guard to the citizens or even other guards if they don’t know who he is…

It could be a time-frame issue. Remember he just got to Ivenmoth, had his orientation, was introduced to his new co-workers, and had one go postal on him. This is the morning after. While a simple strip of cloth would take a couple seconds to grab, he’s also the first in his particular role so the tailors might be finalizing a new design. So now you’ve got potential embroidery involved, but at the very least some kind of modification to make his identifying sash. With all the excitement the afternoon before, it’s possible they didn’t even receive the order until that morning as well.
If these three walked into a bar, you know they’d be inventing a new bar joke.

Kalgkur’s broken fin hasn’t been sanded or replaced. That makes sense; Nell probably couldn’t finish her idea for it in the short time Kalgkur had to visit her this morning before setting off for the enclave (see #338-341). Gotta do some quality work for that one!
Kas could and probably should ride on Isher’s shoulders. She’d be out of reach of any ground yinglet and she’d have a good viewpoint to spot any trouble.
Not to mention she could actually tank being shanked, unlike Elim, lol
Remove the head and the body will die. 😈
Even aside from not wanting to feel like a child being carried, Kass probably prefers walking to put that yinglet energy to use.
Viracroix is being smart with the guards. He sent two Big Scary-looking Guards to attract all the attention so that other guards can properly assess and neutralize potential threats without being disturbed.
